Arkadi De Proft

Arkadi De Proft is a Legal Assistant at Pierstone Brussels.

He is fluent in Dutch and English with a passive knowledge of French.

Expertise

Arkadi is passionate about (multi)media, entertainment and esports.

His focus lies on legal issues occurring during business development, in particular in areas such as data protection, reputation, copyright and contracts.

Furthermore, Arkadi is an expert the world of esports and the specific (legal) challenges it faces.

Professional experience

In 2018, Arkadi helped legal start-up Lawren.IO train a chatbot that is now widely used by several law firms and the Department of Justice of the Belgian Government. In doing so, he perfected his ability to translate the client’s wishes into legalese and vice versa.

Arkadi joined Pierstone as a Legal Assistant in 2019 while finishing his Master’s in Law.

Besides his legal experience, Arkadi is currently also a content writer for esports teams Dignitas and LowLandLions.

Education

Arkadi is currently completing an LL.M in Intellectual Property and Information Technologies at the University of Leuven (KULeuven) while working at Pierstone.

He has been admitted to the 2021-2022 University of Southern California Gould School of Law LL.M. class with a specialization in entertainment law. Additionally, USC awarded him the Dean’s Academic Excellence Award and a Housing Stipend.

Arkadi graduated in 2020 as Master in Law at the Catholic University of Louvain (KUL) after having completed his Bachelor at same university, starting with two years on its faculty in Brussels (KUL Campus Brussels).
