Daniel van der Wel

Daniel has a number of years’ experience advising global telecoms operators on contentious and non-contentious regulatory and competition law in both the UK and Asia-Pacific.

Recent work includes advising telecoms operators on regulatory disputes in the UK and Ireland, advising a consortium of leading telecoms operators on an intervention before the Competition Appeal Tribunal on an appeal against an Ofcom decision, and advising a variety of clients on regulatory and strategic issues flowing from Ofcom’s market reviews.

Before joining us, Daniel worked for a competition law and telecoms boutique firm where he advised one of the UK’s major telcos on a range of regulatory and competition matters in the UK and throughout Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. This included advising BT on an investigation by the OFT in relation to the supply of ICT services in the UK.

Before moving to the UK, Daniel worked for international law firm, Minter Ellison Rudd Watts, in its competition and regulatory team in New Zealand.
