Michael Wixen
Michael joined the firm in September 2013, having spent 4 years working in the telecommunications sector as an in-house legal and regulatory advisor to a group of communications providers.
Since joining the firm, Michael has been gaining experience in all areas of law which we practise. Amongst other things, Michael has been involved with commercial litigation at the Competition Appeal Tribunal and the Administrative Court; drafting, negotiating and advising on various commercial contracts; giving advice on a wide range compliance issues relating to data protection and privacy law; advising clients who are subject to the jurisdiction of Ofcom and the Civil Aviation Authority; advising stakeholders on consultations and proposed legislative reform published by the Law Commission; and monitoring and reporting on regulated commercial contracts in the communications sector for the members of UKCTA.
Michael has studied at the University of South Wales (including a secondment for 12 months to Umeå University in Sweden), the University of Bristol and the University of the West of England. He holds a Bachelor of Laws degree (graduating with first class honours), a Master of Laws degree and obtained a distinction on the Legal Practice Course.
