Yves Delaey

Yves is a transactional lawyer specialized in cross border M&A, private equity transactions and contracts.

Yves started his career with Linklaters, a magic circle firm, in 1999, where he worked in corporate and corporate finance in Brussels, London and Luxembourg. After a brief stint with the United Nations (privatizations) in Kosovo in 2005, he moved to the Middle East in 2006. In the Middle East, he worked for the international law firm Clyde & Co in Abu Dhabi, the private office of a prominent Saudi family and most recently for a boutique firm in the UAE, where he advised on cross-border M&A and international (private equity) transactions on behalf of a diverse international clientele (including sovereign wealth funds, financial institutions, private equity investors and UHNWIs).

Yves has also a strong practice in the not-for profit sector (international and national associations, foundations and trade associations) where he is recommended for his work on corporate governance and general corporate and contractual issues. He has assisted (international) associations in various complex issues and contracts.

Yves also held a teaching assignment at the Paris Sorbonne University in Abu Dhabi.

Yves holds a Masters of Law from the Catholic University of Leuven and an LLM in Banking and Finance from King`s College London. He recently followed an update on Belgian corporate law at the Catholic University of Leuven in view of the new Company and Associations Act.

Yves is a member of the Brussels` Bar.

He is fluent in Dutch, English and French and conversant in German.
